Thank you so much to everyone who responded and donated to MNM for the Christmas party. It was another success.
The students said: “We thank My Neighbor Missions so much to bring a lot of joy in our heart in the middle of the stressful situation that we’re living in Haiti. You bring Jesus through the gifts. We don’t have enough words to thank you, but we know that the Lord takes notes and will bless you on hundredfold! God bless you! Merry Christmas!
Every year around Christmas time, MNM sends funds so that Jean’s school can host a Christmas party with the students. They decorate a little, feed the students a meal, and then give them some simple gifts. It is a way to lighten the students’ day and bring a smile to their face. A simple toy is such a treasured gift for these students.
Cinthia Hervé, a new student who left Lascahobas because of gang related insecurity, says, “Christmas is my favorite period of the year. I like to receive gifts and to hear about Jesus. I like the Christmas songs. This year was very stressful for me. Some gifts would put a lot of joy in my heart this Christmas. It would be a blessing if MNM could send some gifts for us. God will bless them!”
Keisha Laura Chavré is 8, she’s one of our sponsored children. “Tell MNM that I thank them for the gift of last year.” She is hoping for several gifts this Christmas like a watch, or a little car.
“I like Christmas, in this time I always receive gifts from MNM. I’m expecting impatiently the party forthcoming on December 22 to have a beautiful toy! God bless Vernon and MNM! Kreuss Andy E Chavré 8 years old.
Some of the donations will also go to provide food care kits for the extremely vulnerable in the area. The church binds together to package and distribute these parcels, usually rice/beans and oil.
We at My Neighbor Missions would love to partner with you in making this possible again this year. We are looking for donations that would be specifically for this Christmas season. We are wanting to plan the party for Dec. 22!
Spread the word! Help us share the love of Christ this Christmas in Haiti.
Hello to all our sponsors and donors. The 2025-26 school year in Haiti is about to begin. Many of you have sponsored children in the past. We thank you so much for your willingness to make a difference in the life of these children. This year, for the first time, we are accepting online donations (click the button at the bottom). We are excited to see God continue to grow the mission in Haiti. Last year, people just like you sponsored around 30 children. We would like to continue growing that number every year. We know the difference it can make for these underprivileged children. Your sponsorship will help a child get a better chance at life.
Jean is working hard to set up the school for the new school year. We are a little behind in raising funds as we were trying to get set up for online donations. So please help us to get the word out.
Your sponsorship of $450 or just $37.50 per month will provide a student
Tuition Fee for a full year
School uniform and supplies
Lunch at school each day
Will you join us today and make the difference of a lifetime?
What are your most basic food needs? Many of these have been hard to come by in Haiti these days.
Last month we asked for help so that Jean could provide some relief kits for those who had to flee the gangs. Thanks to donors, Jean was able to fulfill his goal of helping refugees and sharing the love of God.
Jean also had the recipients provide some service for MNM’s property upkeep. Many who received kits of rice, spaghetti and oil, helped to clean up around the farm which Jean plans to use as a place for people to come in time of crisis, fleeing gang violence.
He had been providing his school as a place for people to stay, but with school starting soon (find out how you can be a part of that here) he needs the farm for a place of shelter instead of the school building.
We desire your continued prayers and we welcome your donations to help in this ongoing crisis.
The situation in Haiti is really difficult these days. The gangs are trying to take Lascahobas right now. This is the town next to Pernal which is the mission base for My Neighbor Missions. The population of Lascahobas is fleeing the violence. Many people live on public squares.
It’s very hard, but we have opportunity to show God’s grace, practicing hospitality and sharing since March 31. Jean says, “MNM’s efforts to build our house and school continue serving the Lord. I’d like that we continue helping despite the difficulties. The help requests are a lot. All is closed at Lascahobas and we are disconnected with all the West part of the country. I’d like to buy a lot of food to save some life during the next 2 months at least. May God bless the mission and everyone who helps for showing God’s love.”
These were the words of a community person who witnessed the church providing brotherhood to a local family. The family needed a new home desperately. Partnering with MNM allowed the church to begin building a new home for this poor family.
What a witness to the community! A church reaching out to help the less fortunate among them. When there is a need, it is not enough to say, “be warmed and filled.” It takes a faith that works. That says, “I will help provide for you because I have been given much.”
“By this will all men know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” God wants to show others his great love through his people showing love to each other. In a previous post, I asked if anyone would be willing to help sponsor this home. God answered our prayers and we got exactly the $3,000 we needed to make this possible. And God is already using this to open the community’s eyes to his love.
On Saturday, the members of Jean’s congregation started by carrying sand from a creek bank to the location of the house. With sweat pouring from their foreheads, a neighbor stops them and says, “there is nothing better than to be a Christian.” He recognized the tremendous gift it is to have brotherhood.
Jean plans to have the house finished in April. Thank you so much to our generous donors. May God richly bless you!
There’s a very poor lady who would want My Neighbor Missions to build a new house. Her name is Guirlène Joseph. She has 5 children (not all pictured). This family is very poor. We usually do food kits for her on Sundays. This project would require about $3,000. Would you be willing to donate to help sponsor this project? Find out how here: Donations
With the projected pause in US aid, Haiti is continuing to suffer as the gangs disrupt the already impoverished economy. Many people are hungry, not even having enough food, let alone being able to fund a necessary building project. Jobs are scarce and most are left without a way to provide for their families. Please continue to pray for our brothers and sisters in Haiti.
God is faithful. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever more. Even as Haiti continues to suffer under the influence of the gangs controlling the country, God is still faithful. We at MNM have seen his faithfulness is 2024. Pastor Jean has been able to continue showing the love of God to the underprivileged in his community. More than ever hands and feet of Jesus are needed to care for those in extreme poverty. My Neighbor Missions continues to be a part of making that happen in Haiti. We have been able to set up a 501-c3 and are now officially a non-profit organization. MNM was able to sponsor 30 children again for the 2024-25 school year, thanks to our generous sponsors. Each $450 donation covered tuition, uniforms, and school supplies, as well as a daily meal at school, for one child. We are so grateful for the way God has allowed us to be a part of his work in Haiti.
Please continue to pray for the situation in Haiti, that peace could once again come to this country. We want God’s light to shine brighter than ever in this darkness. We pray that the children receiving a Christian education will be a part of the kingdom of God in Haiti. Thank you for your support.
In November of 2023, Jean started preparing a space to raise rabbits. The idea was that the rabbits would provide food for the school as well as a source of income. They could sell the extra rabbits. We all know how fast rabbits can reproduce. Jean started off with 1 male, and 3 females. Soon the rabbits became an excellent opportunity to teach the students attending our school how to care for an animal. Learning how to raise a rabbit, may be enough to rescue that child’s family from extreme poverty.
Our goal at MNM is to help rabbit raising become a sustainable source of income for poor families in the area. As of Jun. 25, 2024, about 7 months after starting the program, we now have 31 rabbits in all and have been able to help 8 families start up their own rabbit raising business. We believe this is one way that God is using MNM to care for the poor and needy in Haiti.
If you would like to donate toward the rabbit raising you can click on the donate tab to see how.
In 2023 Michelin Raphael became increasingly ill until he could no longer work to provide for his family. His wife, Dadie, and three daughters, Marjorie (8), Phara (6), and Barbara, are slowly starving as he awaits a much needed visit to the hospital. Too weak to work, Michelin can do little to improve his family’s condition except to go begging. We are looking for someone who could sponsor Michelin for $100/month to enable him to get the help he needs and get back on his feet to provide for his family again.
